Week-End between Theaters

Friday night the Documentary Film Festival kicked off at the IFI and with quite of an extended group of people I found myself watching the documentary on Patty Smith's life, Dream of Life. Quite something, bit lugubrious but what a character, long face, skinny long legs and poetry kept floating in the air.

Saturday night was time for another theatrical show, bit different though. It was Dodgems' time! The weirdest show I have ever seen in Dublin, fantastic though! It kind of recalled Cirque du Soleil, but still totally different, more dance based and definitely smaller. The dance company is called CoisCéim (Irish for footstep). They are a vibrant dancing company with shows worth while to attend. Dodgems had real electric cars sweeping around stage, multilingual performers and a mixture of dance influences on stage. The show didn't lack of surprises.
