Factory Girl

Discovered this movie on a regular Friday nigh. I actually forgot I had it stored between my junk. Well, what do you know…I didn’t even remember what the movie was all about! The film tells the story about the overwhelming relationship between the US artist Andy Warhol and its Superstar friend Edie Sedgwick, as they rose to stardom in New York during the 60s.

Given the popularity of Warhol, Edie Sedgwick might sound like a subject not that interesting after all. I personally felt in love with her character and I seriously disliked Warhol by the end of it.

Edie is portrayed as a young woman, full of life, with a passion for art and beauty, an exquisite taste for clothing, intelligent, rich, sensitive and staggeringly beautiful. Her only show stopper was a past full of abuses.

Very sad story of a young woman, of a very fragile psychology. She was abandoned by all her family and her powerful friends to end up dying at the age of 28. The beauty of Sienna Miller in this movie is just incredible…. 8/10?

Tagline: When Andy met Edie, life limitated art.
